Which payment methods do you accept?

Most people choose to pay by Direct Debit, one month in advance. If you’re on the Simpler plan, you can also pay by cash or cheque in arrears. You can pay over the phone (or on My OVO) with a card, via a bank transfer or by cash with a paying-in slip at your bank. They no longer offer Flexible Direct Debit. And they don’t accept PayPal.

I pay my bill by monthly Direct Debit. Can I make extra payments online?

Yes! You might need to make an extra payment because your Direct Debit payment isn’t covering the energy you’re using. Just follow the instructions above to do it in My OVO.

How do I close my OVO account and get a refund?

You’ll need to begin switching to another energy company and they’ll let them know you’re leaving. Once you’ve switched, they’ll then send you a final statement within 6 weeks. If you’re due a refund after they’ve sent your final statement, they’ll pay it into your bank account within 14 working days.

Does OVO have a tariff without a standing charge?

No, unfortunately not. All their plans have a standing charge, so they doesn’t have to use structured unit prices as other suppliers do.
