Can I pay with PayPal?
Shutterstock does not accept Paypal as a payment method, but they’re happy to accept credit card and direct debit. Both will allow you to purchase and immediately activate a plan on their site.
Can I pay by bank or wire transfer?
Bank wires and checks are accepted only when purchasing custom/corporate plans. All purchases made through their website can be paid for with a credit card or direct debit and will be available immediately upon successful payment.
I’m in the Netherlands. Do I have to pay VAT on my purchases?
In 2019, Shutterstock closed its Netherlands legal entity. In doing so, Shutterstock migrated all customers who transacted with their Netherlands entity to their US-based entity. This means Dutch customers can now enter a valid VAT number to have VAT excluded from their purchases. Otherwise, there is no impact on customer use of their site or content.
Does Shutterstock have a Free Trial?
Shutterstock offers a 30 day free trial on 10 images per month subscription.
Why do I see multiple currencies listed on my receipt?
This is due to European Union regulations that require invoices to show currency estimates in Euros. If you’re a Shutterstock customer outside of the US or Canada and made your first purchase after August 3, 2015, then you’ll probably see multiple currencies. This is because your account transacts with Shutterstock’s business entity in the Netherlands. As an EU-based business, they are required to follow this EU regulation.
